RE5: DLC/ Round Two Review

Thanks to the helpfulness of a kind friend, I was able to play Desperate Escape. It comes with the Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, or sold as an add-on for $4.99 on PSN.

Well, the verdict is in: Desperate Escape will not disappoint. This add-on takes you through what Jill Valentine and Josh Stone were doing during Chapter 6 of the campaign. It shows how they both fought their way to Chris and Sheva at the end of the game.

Unlike the other add-on, Lost in Nightmares, this adventure is very action and combat heavy, which is not a bad thing at all. The consant fighting and thinking will keep you on the edge of your couch. Some fights are amazing, and all are fun.

Although the voice acting isn't great, it's better than LiN. Jill, Josh, and Doug all seem like they are real people, not video game characters. The graphics also add to the experience, and the epic RE5 soundtrack is still as good as ever.

Capcom did it; they created a fun adventure that doesn't get boring after five minutes. If it's you first run-through, play on at least Veteran difficulty, because the actual adventure is rather easy. Then again, this is coming from a seasoned Resident Evil veteran.

Bottom line: this is a great add on. The action, fighting, music, and experience is great. I highly recommend it. $4.99 is pretty much a deal for an adventure this good. Props, Capcom.
